Interactive Poetry with Laura Purdie Salas
April 7 from 6 to 6:45 p.m.
Celebrate National Poetry Month with local poet and author Laura Purdie Salas and her interactive poetry program, including poems, rhymes, stories, and movement. Registration is not required.
Computer classes
Google Tools
April 11 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Learn about products and services Google has developed to aid in collaboration, accessibility, and business marketing. This class will be an overview of Gmail, Gchat, Google Drive, Google+, Google Calendar, Google Maps, and much more. Learn the basics about how to make the best use of Google’s tools to achieve your personal and professional goals. Bring your tablet or laptop. Introduction to Computers
April 14 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
This hands-on class teaches the basics of personal computers, including using a mouse and keyboard, printing, and searching the Internet. Register on the library’s website or call the Hardwood Creek Library at 651-275-7300.
Microsoft Word Basics Parts 1 and 2
April 21 and 28 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
This two-part course will teach students the basics of word processing using Microsoft Word. Learn how to create, format, and save documents. Please register on the library’s website or call the Hardwood Creek Library at 651-275-7300.
Children’s events
Baby storytime
April 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29 from 9:45 to 10:15 a.m.
Children up to 24 months and their caregivers can enjoy rhymes, songs, toys, and books. Registration is not required.
Preschool storytime
April 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 23, 29, and 30 from 10:30 to 11 a.m.
Children preschool through kindergarten age and their caregivers can enjoy stories, songs, finger plays, and more to encourage the development of early literacy skills. Registration is not required.
Family storytime
April 4, 11, 18, and 25 from 10:30 to 11 a.m.
Children two and up, and their families, are welcome enjoy stories, songs, finger plays and more to encourage the development of early literacy skills. . Registration is not required.
Super Storytime
April 7, 14, 21, and 28 from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m.
A craft or other activity expands preschool storytime into super storytime. Stories, songs, finger plays, and more will encourage the development of early literacy skills. This event is for children preschool through kindergarten age and their caregivers. Registration is not required.
Dog Gone Reading
April 2 and 16 from 4 to 6 p.m.
Children in grades K-7 read aloud to a certified therapy dog and its owner. Reading intervals are 15 minutes in length. Sign up at the children’s desk or call 651-275-7300.

Third Thursday Night Adult Book Club
April 16 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
The selection for discussion in April is the second half (chapter 28 to the end) of “Cutting for Stone” by Abraham Verghese.
Third Tuesday Night Adult Book Club
April 21 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
The title selected for discussion in April is “Vaclav & Lena” by Haley Tanner.
