The Forest Lake High School speech team hosted the Section 7AA Speech Tournament on March 27.  The Rangers had a successful tournament with 20 out of the 37 students advancing to the final round.  Forest Lake had more finalists than any other team in the section.  At the end of final rounds, the team took 2nd place behind a talented Elk River team.  Forest Lake also had six students who placed in the top three in their categories, earning a right to compete at the state tournament. Tommy Brockman was the section champion in Storytelling, Courtney Leanord took second place in storytelling, Sara DeSobrino earned third place in extemporaneous speaking, Megan Storkan took home third place in great speeches, Bri Flasch was the section champion in creative expression, and Maddi Dorrain earned third place in creative expression. These six students compete at the Minnesota State High School League State Speech Tournament on April 18.
