Wood carver meeting
The Lakes Area Wood Carvers will hold a monthly meeting from 7 to 9:30 p.m. May 28 at the Forest Lake Senior Center, 767 4th St. SW. The meeting is open to all and the evenings theme is “Nature’s Walking Sticks and Canes.”

Music concert
The Forest Lake Area Schools’ Music Department will be hosting a pops concert at 7 p.m. May 29 in the Forest Lake Area High School main gymnasium. All 10-12th grade music ensembles will be performing.

Recycling event
The Forest Lake Transit Center, 19955 Forest Rd. N., will host a recycling event from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 30. Hazardous waste and electronics will be accepted. Document shredding will also be available.

Classic car show
The Forest Lake American Legion will host a “Revvv, White, and Blue Classic Car Show” from 12 to 3 p.m. May 30 with all proceeds to benefit the Forest Lake 4th of July parade and fireworks. There is a $10 per car entry fee. The event will feature family friendly 50’s events, music, games and prizes.

Pancake breakfast
Forest Lake Masonic Lodge 344 is hosting a pancake breakfast on Sunday, May 31 from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm May 31 at the Forest Lake Masonic Lodge, 119 8th Avenue SE. The Masons will be matching donations made to Tribute To The Troops, a non-profit organization that honors fallen Minnesota military heroes and their families. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for kids.

‘All About Me’ autism summer camp
You Autism Solutions Center of MN will host an “All About Me” summer camp in Forest Lake from 1 to 3 p.m. for youth ages six to 11 and 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. ages 12 to 15 June 8 to 12. The camp is designed to help children identified with autism and learning differences appreciate being unique and get to know themselves. The camp will feature theatrical skits, interactive board games, and yoga. Space is limited and the enrollment deadline is June 1. Senior party volunteers needed
Volunteers for the all-night senior party are needed beginning the afternoon of June 5 until 6:30 a.m. June 6. Volunteers can be any interested adult in the community. Volunteer time commitments are a couple of hours. Anyone can sign up at http://goo.gl/EI8c3V.

Breast cancer benefit
A cancer benefit for Bobbie Back will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. June 6 at Maranatha Church, 24799 Forest Blvd. There will be a silent auction, raffle, and bake sale. A spaghetti dinner will be served at $10 per person.

Chamber breakfast
The Forest Lake Chamber will host a breakfast meeting from 7:45 – 8:45 a.m. June 9 at The Lodge at Forest Hills 7530 210th St. N. The event will feature Mayor Stev Stegner presenting “The Future of Forest Lake: A Look at New Opportunities.” Cost is $20 for members and $35 for non-members. Guests are asked to RSVP by June 5 by contacting chamber@flacc.org.

Sports camp
Crossroads Covenant Church, 17445 Notre Dame St., NE, will offer a five day sports and ministry program with registration from 8:15 to 8:55 a.m. and camp from 9 a.m. to 12:15 pm June 15 to 19. Offerings include soccer, flag football, volleyball, cheerleading and Team 45 sports basic for 4 and 5 year olds. The camp is open to children age 4 to 12.

Teen driver awareness
The Forest Lake police department will host a free “Point of Impact“ teen driver safety awareness class from 6:30 to 8 p.m. June 23 and Aug. 12 at the Forest Lake City Center.

Christian musician
Willowbrook Community Church will kick off their “Living Room Series” with a 7 p.m. July 8 appearance by recording artist Matt Maher. Maher is a grammy nominee who has written songs for Hillsong, Chris Tomlin, and Crowder, among others. Go to willowbrookchurch.org to purchase tickets.
