Theater auditions
Auditions for the upcoming Masquers Theatre production of “A Don’t Hug Me Christmas Carol” will be held Sept. 9 and 10 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the American Legion, 355 W Broadway Ave. Call backs will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Sept. 14. Bring a short up-tempo song that shows off your range, your calendar, and a list of conflicts. Dress for movement. A pianist will be provided. Show dates are Friday through Sunday Dec. 4 through 20.
Memorial golf tournament
The Pat Cheyne Memorial Golf Tournament and wine tasting event will begin at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 12 at Forest Hills Golf Club. The annual event is a benefit for the Forest Lake Area Community Scholarship Foundation. For registration or information go to patcheynegolfevent.com.
Charity car show
Midwest Mopars will host a “Cars for Soldiers” charity car show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 19 at Wilcox Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, 321 19th Street SW. All funds raised will go directly to help treat U.S. military personnel wounded and disfigured during service in Iraq and Afganistan. Funds will be matched by Midwest Mopars. Trophies will be awarded for best in show, soldier’s choice, Midwest Mopars’ choice, dealership’s choice, best GM, best Ford, and best other. Open to all makes and models with a $5 minimum entry donation for show cars and spectators.
Masquers annual meeting
Masquers Theatre will hold its annual meeting at 5 p.m. Sept. 21 at Vannellis by the Lake. The purpose of the meeting is to elect the 2015-2016 board. The regular monthly meeting will follow.
