My wife and I were planning our first vacation in 15 years and decided to go to Washington D.C. and thought it would be really nice to see the White House while we were there.
We submitted the application form for a tour of the White House to Congressman Emmer's office as required on May 29, 2015 and were told they would get back to us.
It was late August and we still had not heard back from them so we called them and we were told they were working on it.
Two days before we were to leave (Sept. 10) on our vacation we received an email from Congressman Emmer's office saying that the tour was full and we would not be able to tour the White House.
We were very disappointed about this. So my wife taking matters into her own hands called Mayor Stev Stegner of Forest Lake and explained the situation to him and how disappointed we were. Mayor Stegner made some phone calls on our behalf and was able to get us our tour of the White House.
Mayor Stev Stegner helped make our vacation complete and very memorable.
Thank you, Al and Ginny
