Rake in all Lakes Area Youth Service Bureau has to share at a fall open house Nov. 4. Community members are invited to come to LAYSB at 244 N. Lake St. between 3 and 6 p.m. to meet new staff members, learn about new programs and initiatives for youth and families, and find out how to become involved at LAYSB. Refreshments will be served and a door prize will available.
Youth Advisory Board members will also be on hand to talk about their latest community service project, a reduce/reuse campaign. YAB is a group of local 7th to 12th graders looking to make a difference in their community. Clothing makes up 4 percent of the waste stream, and 100 percent of those textiles can be reused. YAB wants to address that issue. YAB received a grant from Community POWER funded by the Solid Waste Management Coordinating Board to do so. Guests at the open house will hear about YAB’s campaign and how they can support their endeavors.
