Wild River State Park December Events

All programs are free, but a Minnesota
State Park vehicle permit is required
for all vehicles entering the park.

Stories by the Stove
1 to 2 p.m. Dec. 28
Hot chocolate and s’mores will be served by the wood stove as the park naturalist shares stories about some of the animals that call Wild River State Park home. Meet at the visitor center. For more details, contact Mike Dunker at 651-583-2125 x227 or michael.dunker@state.mn.us.
Snow Princess Adventure
1 to 2:30 p.m. Dec. 29
Adventurers ages 6-10 and their adults are invited to enjoy Wild River State Park’s winter season during a special program where they will make a one-of-a-kind crown with the naturalist and explore the power of snow and ice. Guests will also hunt for snowflakes, make ice castles, and build snowmen. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Costumes are welcome as long as they fit over or under winter layers and boots. Pre-registration is required by e-mailing jenni.webster@state.mn.us.
Snowshoe 101
1 to 2:30 p.m. Dec. 30
Learn a little about snowshoes before heading out on the trail with the naturalist to explore the park. Program will be cancelled if temps or wind chill is -15 below. Meet at the visitor center. Contact Mike Dunker to register for the program at 651-583-2125 x227 or michael.dunker@state.mn.us.
