Third grade theatrics

Third grade students at Scandia Elementary IB World School have been participating in a create-a-play residency with Stepping Stone Theater this spring. The students are exploring the central idea that forms of creative expression allow people to share their thoughts and ideas.  During the theater residency, students meet with an actress during 10 one-hour sessions.  Students learn cooperation, self-confidence and how to use their voice, body and imagination, while working together to create an original play, which was performed for family and friends on June 1. The theater residency was made possible through a grant from the Hugh J. Andersen Foundation.
