Manson in chief

It’s not encouraging to watch the establishment Republicans rallying around bigot and racist Donald Trump, who has no idea of conservative policies. These descriptions of Trump were not called out by me but by Republicans like Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell and Mitt Romney. Meg Whitman likened Trump to Hitler and Mussolini, even the Koch brothers are keeping their distance.

Am I missing something here? After Ryan blasted Trump for being a racist, he said he still supports him; one can come away with the conclusion that if you know a person is a womanizer, a racist, a bigot and has been accused of cheating ordinary folks in business (Trump University), by your very support you endorse this person’s horrible views and possess them as your own.

Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort previously was paid help for Philippines dictator Ferdinand Marcos in the 1980s. Manafort helped prop up the dictator for years until the regime finally crumbled. Marcos fled to the US, but only after killing thousands and torturing tens of thousands of his own people and using the treasury as his own money.

Trump’s admiration of Russia’s Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong-un as strong leaders is unsettling but no surprise considering he would hire the likes of Manafort to help him with his strongman quest for the presidency.

Make no mistake. Trump is a danger to democracy and our country. voting for this megalomaniac would be a grave error, akin to putting the Manson family in charge of our country.
