A hungry black bear emptied the bird feeders at a home in Scandia during the night of Wednesday, March 26. On returning the next night and finding them empty, the bear detached and demolished all the feeders. DNR officer Alex Gutierrez recommends taking down bird feeders for a few days after a bear visit, so the bear will move on. “If there’s food, they’ll find it,” he said. (Photo submitted)
