Students in the Forest Lake Area High School Music Department are getting ready for the 19th Annual Bethel Concert, which will be held at 7:30 p.m. April 24 at Bethel University in Benson Great Hall.
“It’s a powerful, mind blowing, experience,” senior choir member Veronica Hughes said in a press release. “It almost makes me feel like we are professional. This concert always leaves people in awe and even brings tears to their eyes.”
As a world-class performance facility on the campus of Bethel University, Benson Great Hall is recognized for its superior acoustics. Students in Cantorei, Sinfonia Orchestra, Symphonic Winds, Jazz Ensemble, Chamber Singers, Brass Quintet, and the string quartet Tetradoxin will perform music by Bach, Dvořák, Fauré, Gershwin, and others.
“Performing at Bethel is one of the most rewarding experiences ever,” senior band and choir member Sammi Weigel said in a press release. “It is a great opportunity for young musicians, like myself, to feel important and do something amazing. There is so much energy surrounding this concert and so much work put into it that everything just sounds amazing.”
Tickets for the concert are $8 for adults and $6 for seniors, students, and children. They may be purchased from any of the musicians, in the main office of the high school, at the Music Connection, or at the door.
