SCANDIA
Taco Daze
The annual Scandia Taco Daze event will be held Sept. 12 and will include a dodgeball tournament from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., all day car, truck, and tractor show, craft vendors and a farmers makrket from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Boy Scout taco sale from noon to 4 p.m., kids activities, dunk tank, Lake Country Cloggers from 1 to 2 p.m., ballroom dancing lessons from 2 to 3 p.m., the Barabry Coast Dixieland Band from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m., running of the meatballs at 3:30 p.m., the parade at 4 p.m. and a pirate movie in the Community Center at 7 p.m. For more information go to www.scandiamarinelions.org or contact Denny and Carol Seefeldt at 651-433-5999.

WYOMING
Pie and booya
The Wyoming United Methodist Church will offer free booya, coffee, pie, history, and literature from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 12.

EAST BETHEL
Pancake breakfast
The East Bethel seniors will host a pancake breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Sept. 13 at the community center one mile east of Hwy. 65 on 221 Ave. The event will feature pancakes, french toast, sausage, juice, coffee, and choice of egg. Cost is $5 for adults and $2 for kids 10 and under.

LINDSTROM
Community choir
Fall rehearsals for the Unexpected Company Community Choir featuring members from all surrounding communities including Forest Lake, Columbus, Wyoming, and Linwood, will begin at 7 p.m. Sept. 15 in the Chisago Lakes High School choir room, 29400 Olinda Trail.

COLUMBUS
Bingo
The Lakes Area Youth Service Bureau will host bingo at Running Aces Casino and Racetrack at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 15 and every Tuesday thereafter. Progressive coverall starts at 50 numbers and will grow up to $2,000.

COLUMBUS
Fall fest
The city of Columbus will host a fall festival from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 19 at 16319 Kettle River Blvd. The event will feature a Lions garage sale, senior center craft, clothing, and linen sale, the WCCO weather van, kids games, a chili feed, Xcel Enrgy safety demo, free health screenings, a puppet show, and free pie and ice cream.

LINWOOD
Defensive driving
A 55 alive 8-hour refresher defensive driving class will be held from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sept. 19 at the Linwood Senior Center, 22817 Typo Creek Dr. NE. Cost is $15. Register at 651-462-5565

WYOMING
Square dance club
The Jolly Promenaders Square Dance Club will host an introduction to modern american square dance at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 22 at the Wyoming United Methodist Church. For more information, contact Gordy and Rita at 651-462-1475.

COLUMBUS
Recycle day
Schedule a pick up by Sept. 23. for the Sept. 25 Columbus recycle day. Put all of your items at the end of your driveway by 7 a.m. Make a check out to All Appliance Disposal for $10 pickup fee and fee per piece. Put your check in an envelope in or on the items. Prices are as follows: tires, appliances, yard equipment, computer monitors, and monitor-sized televisions are $5, a 30 to 36 inch television is $10, a 36 inch or greater television is $20, computers, aluminum, metal, and all electronics not already listed are free.
